UK Black Pride was an amazing, fun filled day. Ethnic Minorities for a People's Vote attended in conjunction with LGBT+ for a People's Vote and Gay Star News to discuss with attendees why a People's Vote is important. The atmosphere was brilliant and the support was amazing, with lots of signups and lots of people loving Ethnic Minorities for a People's Vote and LGBT+ for a People's Vote placards.Read more
On 23rd March - just a few days before the UK was originally supposed to exit the EU - one million people marched on the streets of London, demanding a People's Vote.
Ethnic Minorities for a People's Vote organised a pre-march meet up point for people to collect Ethnic Minorities for a People's Vote materials to take to the march. It was great engaging in conversation and seeing the support for a People's Vote!Read more
For Our Future's Sake and Ethnic Minorities for a People's Vote have panels discussing the impact of Brexit on ethnic minorities with differentuniversity societies across the country. These events have been a great opportunity to engage with young people - especially young ethnic minorities - on Brexit, and find out whether they support a People's Vote.
Our launch event, which took place in Parliament, was a massive success.
Speakers included Kim McIntosh and Dr. Irum Ali from Race on the Agenda, Dami Olatuyi from Remainer Now, Rupa Huq MP, Dinesh Dhamija (now Liberal Democrat MEP), Professor Geeta Nargund and Amatey Doku.
The launch included discussions about the risk of Brexit, and benefit of a People's Vote, for the ethnic minority community.Read more
